Residents and visitors can now enjoy a smoother drive on Randol Mill Road.

The City of Arlington has completed an approximately $1.7 million Mill and Overlay project to improve the aging section of Randol Mill Road between Cooper and Collins streets for drivers.

Arlington will move forward with voter-approved plans to rebuild and widen the four-lane asphalt road to a six-lane concrete road as proposed in the City’s throughfare development plan at a later date. The City will also build sidewalks and ADA-compliant curb ramps, make intersection improvements, add streetlights and traffic signals, address drainage issues and renew water and sanitary sewer infrastructure during the future rebuild. Residents approved funding for the rebuild and expansion project in the 2021 Tarrant County Transportation Bond Program and the City of Arlington’s 2023 Bond Program.

In all, Arlington has dedicated $28.7 million for street maintenance improvements projects in Fiscal Year 2024 as part of the City Council’s priority to Enhance Regional Mobility.
