Tax documents

Tax season has arrived, and the Arlington Public Library is here to help. We’ve partnered with AARP and VITA to offer free tax preparation assistance.

AARP Tax-Aide

Tax-Aide from AARP will be available at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library and the Southwest Branch Library starting Friday, February 2, through Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

Patrons must go in person to their preferred location, either Southwest or Downtown, to schedule appointments. Staff will be unable to schedule appointments over the phone. Sign-ups will open on Friday, January 26 at both locations. An appointment binder will be available for the public at each location for patrons to fill in their name in an appointment slot.

Public Library Computers to file taxes

Our public computers are available for use for those who would like to file their taxes online. There are a number of sites that offer e-filing services; some free and some fee-based. Payment may need to be submitted online by entering credit card or debit account information. A valid email address is necessary in order to file taxes electronically.
