Levitt Arlington and the Arlington Mayor’s Latino Advisory Council will host a free Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Sat., Oct. 7 from 5-10 pm at Levitt Pavilion Arlington (101 W. Abram, in Downtown Arlington across from City Hall). Open to everyone, the celebration will offer five live performances, including concerts featuring legendary Tejano star Gary Hobbs and Los Cadetes de Linares, a long-running Norteño group from Mexico. Other artists appearing at the event are Fusion Latina Band, a popular DFW party band; Sandunga Dance Company, an HEB-based salsa and mambo dance troupe; and Salsa at The Gardens, a Fort Worth dance company.

Although coolers are welcome at the event, guests will also have the opportunity to purchase delicious tacos, tortas, micheladas and more from food trucks vending on site.

Kathleen Ramon Venable, the event chair for the 2023 Hispanic Heritage Celebration, emphasized that the event is open to all community members.

“We encourage everyone to join us on Saturday for what’s sure to be a lively, festive, and memorable evening,” said Venable, who also serves on the Mayor’s Latino Advisory Council. “This event is an opportunity for Arlington’s Latino and Hispanic residents to come together to showcase and celebrate their cultures, as well as an opportunity for everyone in our community to experience new genres of music, dance, and cuisine."

Added Letatia Teykl, the Levitt’s executive director: “An important aspect of the Levitt's mission is to support Arlington's rich diversity, which is why we produce the Hispanic Heritage Celebration and other multicultural events throughout the year. We're delighted the Mayor's Latino Advisory Council has stepped up once again to partner with us for this wonderful community event."
