DFW-Arlington Metro Ranked Among Top 5 for Startup Success

A new study by MoneyGeek ranked the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metro area as #4 in the nation for entrepreneurial success. Key findings included that 32.8% of operating businesses in the area are new ventures, ranking 6th among 168 U.S. metro areas. 8.6% of the population is self-employed, with those households earning an average annual income of $50,899. These numbers are bolstered by Arlington’s support of startups and entrepreneurs through programs like the SCORE Cohort Partnership, lending options and other small business resources.

MoneyGeek analyzed and ranked 168 U.S. metropolitan areas, focusing on the best areas for self-employed individuals and small business owners. Factors considered included self-employment rates and income, business success and access to funding.
