The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, May 3, 2024 along Highway 360.

At approximately 3:25 a.m., officers responded to the southbound lanes of Hwy 360 near the I-30 exit ramp after the driver of a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder reported hitting a man who ran in front of him.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. He did not have any type of identification on him.

The driver of the Pathfinder stopped immediately and cooperated with the investigation. He is not facing any criminal charges.

It’s unclear why the man attempted to run across the highway.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release his name once he is positively identified and next of kin are notified.

The Arlington Police Department would like to remind the public that pedestrians should NEVER enter highway lanes. Due to the speeds vehicles are traveling and the distance they require to brake, attempting to cross a highway is extremely dangerous and can lead to a catastrophic collision. Pedestrians needing to get from one side of a highway to the other should use designated crossings and sidewalks along overpasses and underpasses.
