1. Levitt Pavilion Arlington's Free Fall Concert Season

Happy 10th birthday, Levitt Pavilion Arlington! In a decade-long tradition that has yet to be broken, Levitt Pavilion Arlington opens its fall season of free concerts this Friday night at 8 p.m. with everybody's favorite Grammy-winning nuclear polka band, Brave Combo. Opening weekend continues at 8 p.m. with the 2016 winner of NBC's The Voice, Sundance Head on Saturday, September 1. Rock royalty comes to town on Sunday at 8 p.m. when The Drifters make a return visit to the Levitt, presented by Dr Pepper/Snapple brands, 7Up, Squirt and Clamato. All concerts are free and family friendly except for Barenaked Ladies, which requires a ticket purchase. 2. LSU vs. Miami — AdvoCare Classic at AT&T Stadium

The 2018 AdvoCare Classic between the University of Miami and Louisiana State University kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at AT&T Stadium in The American Dream City. This year will mark the 10th anniversary of the annual kickoff weekend game. The Tigers have played in the game twice, beating Oregon 40-27 in 2011 and TCU 37-27 in 2016. 3. Live Music at Texas Live!

Check out live music this weekend at Texas Live!, the new $250 million world-class dining, entertainment and hospitality district located near the Rangers' Globe Life Park and Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in The American Dream City. Arlington Backyard, a 5,000-capacity outdoor event pavilion, is expected to host more than 250 events annually. Back in Black, an AC/DC cover band, performs at 10:30 p.m. at the Live! Arena on Friday, August 31 and Freedom Friday celebrating military, first responders and nurses gets underway at PBR Texas at 8 p.m. on Friday. 4. Twins vs. Rangers at Globe Life Park in Arlington

The Texas Rangers host the Minnesota Twins at Globe Life Park in Arlington this weekend for a three-game series. The Rangers will play at 7:05 p.m. CT on Friday and Saturday, and at 2:05 p.m. CT on Sunday. Globe Life Park in Arlington will be celebrating First Responders Weekend Friday through Sunday. Fans will enjoy a fireworks show after the game on Friday. On Saturday, the first 15,000 fans will receive a Toyota Rangers Captain Bobblehead. 5. T.G. Sheppard at Arlington Music Hall

T.G. Sheppard has always had an unstoppable passion for music. This passion along with 21 number one hits and being ranked among the top 100 country artists of all time has made him one of the most popular live performers on tour today. Sheppard performs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 31. Tickets are still available online at Arlington Music Hall's website. Residents can also call the box office at (817) 226-4400. Janie Fricke performs the night before on Thursday, August 30 at 7:30 p.m.

6. Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, continues its 57th season in The American Dream City. The park will open this weekend for guests to enjoy their favorite coasters and attractions, including the ultimate Super-Villain thrill ride—HARLEY QUINN Spinsanity. The park's operating hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. 7. Splash Into September at Hugh Smith Indoor Pool

As summer comes to an end, the pools will be closing for the season. However, if you purchased an outdoor season pass for City pools, then you can still use it through September at Hugh Smith Indoor Pool. Keep summer going after school starts with open swim hours every day of the week. Features include a perfect 86 degree water temperature year round, handicap access, and changing room and restroom facilities. 8. Live Music at Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club

Head over to Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club in Downtown Arlington for live music this weekend. On Saturday, September 1, 57 Sauce will take the stage at 9 p.m. The hometown band started up in 2012 and plays music from all genres. Next weekend marks the 7-year anniversary of Grease Monkey in Arlington. Come out at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 7 for live music, raffles and giveaways. Grease Monkey is located at 200 N Mesquite St, Arlington, TX 76011.

9. Live Music at J.R. Bentley's

Check out live music with Robin Lore this Friday, August 31, 2018 at J.R. Bentley's in Downtown Arlington. The show starts at 8 p.m. On Saturday, 7th Row, 2nd Seat performs at 8 p.m. Situated in a historic home, J.R. Bentley's has the feel of an authentic English pub and features several local and area bands throughout the year. The venue is located at 406 W Abram St, Arlington, TX 76010. You can find a complete calendar of events at www.jrbentleys.com. Regular hours of operation are Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday from 5 p.m. to midnight. J.R. Bentley's will be closed for Labor Day.

10. Shows at UTA Planetarium — CLOSES SATURDAY THROUGH SEPT. 14 FOR REPAIRS

UTA Planetarium continues to offer shows to residents and visitors. This includes Spacepark 360: Infinity, a planetarium show designed to recreate the experience of amusement park thrill rides, roller coasters, pendulums, inverters and more.
