The City of Arlington has launched a regular Street Tracker segment on MyArlingtonTV to provide transparency and up-to-date information on both current and proposed street maintenance and construction projects throughout The American Dream City.

This month's episode features the $26 million Abram Street Rebuild in Downtown Arlington. The two-year project will bring much-needed roadway and utilities improvements to Abram between Cooper and Collins streets. It will also add on-street parking, enhanced landscaping, public art and pedestrian amenities that aim to create a more vibrant, welcoming atmosphere for Downtown shoppers, diners and visitors.

The City of Arlington is proud to announce that the transformative project rebuild Abram Street between Cooper and Collins Streets has reached a major milestone. Improvements to the south side of Abram between Pecan and Center Streets were completed ahead of schedule.

Since construction began in late March, the City and the contractor have been working diligently to ensure this section would be complete and ready for public use before the start of the Levitt Pavilion's 2018 Fall Concert Season.

The City of Arlington, which recently launched the Abram Street Rebuild webpage, will work closely with the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation and other community stakeholders to communicate lane closures, construction milestones and other important information.

Additionally, Arlington has partnered with Waze to give drivers the best experience possible to get around town. Drivers can download Waze for free at www.waze.com/get for iOS and Android and see real-time traffic, find optimal routes, avoid road closures and more.

Street Tracker is part of the Arlington City Council's priority of "Enhancing Regional Mobility." Residents can visit Arlington's Street Tracker webpage at www.arlingtontx.gov/streettracker. The site features an interactive map, project list, videos, a news feed featuring the latest information on street construction and contact information for residents to report street problems, such as potholes, that they find in Arlington.

The City's Office of Communication develops programming for MyArlingtonTV. Viewers can find MyArlingtonTV programs on the following cable systems: Spectrum Channel 16 and AT&T U-Verse channel 99, and streaming capabilities at www.arlington-tx.gov. All episodes are also available on the City's YouTube channel, Facebook page and Twitter account.
