Make a Splash for Water Safety

The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department, with the help of Mid-Cities Arlington Swim Team, is spreading the word about water safety by offering a morning of free water safety lessons and activities next weekend.

So grab your swimsuit, towel, and bike and come out to the Make A Splash event, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 17 at Allen Bolden Pool, located at 2800 S. Center Street inside Vandergriff Park. The event will feature demos with American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors, fun activities, a bounce house, safety related vendors, and a hot dog lunch (while supplies last).

Make A Splash is a national, child-focused water safety initiative of the USA Swimming Foundation.

Participants who visit all vendor stations at the June 17 event can receive one complimentary pass valid at any Arlington public pool during the 2017 swim season. One free pass per family.

  • Bicycle Inc. will be doing bike safety checks and bike tune ups, don't forget your bike!
  • Touch-A-Truck DFW, supporting Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
