Light Up Arlington - Monday, July 3

Festivities start at 6 p.m. July 3 at Parks and Recreation Department's 11th annual Light Up Arlington. This year's celebration, which encompasses several blocks north and south of City Hall, includes food trucks, carnival concessions and entertainment for all ages. Bands will perform at four stages around Downtown, including the Levitt Pavilion. Face painting, train rides, a petting zoo and inflatable games are just some of the activities planned for the little ones. In addition to concessions, food trucks will be available on site from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The fireworks display starts at 9:45 p.m. and will be set to music from 95.9 The Ranch. Because of construction around City Hall, fireworks will be shot off from the Municipal Office Tower at 101 Mesquite Street.

Arlington 4th of July Parade - Tuesday, July 4

After Light Up Arlington, head on back to Downtown Tuesday morning for the 4th of July Parade, billed as the oldest, longest running event in Arlington. The theme for this year's parade, which runs from about 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., is "4thof July, Texas Style." Martin High School graduate Myles Garrett, who plays for the Cleveland Browns, is this year's Grand Marshal. The parade's International Grand Marshal is Thomas Helbling, who is burgermeister of Arlington's Sister City, Bad Konigshofen, Germany. Click here for more information about this year's parade. Levitt Pavilion's 2017 Summer Concert Series

The annual summer concert series continues this Friday, June 30, 2017. Visitors will be able to attend a free concert under the stars three nights a week, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through July 23. There will also be performances on Monday, July 3 at Light Up Arlington. A few artists set to hit the stage this summer include Ambrosia, La Tropa F, Reckless Kelly, Sarah Jaffe, Los TexManiacs with Flaco Jimenez and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass Band. Viridian Stars & Stripes Celebration

It's time to get excited for the return of Stars & Stripes Independence Day Celebration at Viridian from 6-9:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 1! Live performances by the Infinite Journey - The Music of Journey and The Shane Bell Band. On-site concessions will be provided by Blue Mesa Grill of Arlington. The evening will end with a spectacular fireworks display over Lake Viridian. This event is free and open to the public, so make sure to bring you picnic blankets and enjoy the fun. All vehicles including golf carts must park in event parking lot. The parking lot entrance is located on Blue Lake Blvd. Viridian DFW is located at 1001 Viridian Park Lane, Arlington, TX 76005.

Red Sox vs. Rangers at Globe Life Park in Arlington

The Texas Rangers are at Globe Life Park in Arlington for a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox on Monday, July 3 through Wednesday, July 5, 2017. On Monday, fans will enjoy a fireworks show after the game. Tuesday's fans will see a special 4th of July fireworks show presented by Honda. On Wednesday, the Rangers will bring fans the first ever Game of Thrones® Night at Globe Life Park. This exclusive theme night ticket comes with a voucher for a limited edition House Banister bobblehead. Tickets must be purchased through this offer to receive this item. Seattle Storm vs. Dallas Wings at College Park Center

The Wings return home this Saturday, July 1 for a game against the Seattle Storm at The University of Texas at Arlington's College Park Center in Downtown. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT. The Wings play all home games at College Park Center, a state-of-the-art 7,000-seat arena located at 600 S Center St, Arlington, TX 76019. July 4th Fest at Six Flags Over Texas

Milton H. Greene: Women Exhibit at Arlington Museum of Art

This summer, the Arlington Museum of Art will continue its tradition of photography exhibits with Milton Greene: Women, which opened on May 13 and will run through Aug 6. "Photography has been a huge success at the Arlington Museum of Art," Hightower said. "Our two most attended exhibits, Ansel Adams and Vivian Maier, were photography exhibits. I chose Milton Greene's work because he was famous for his work with celebrities in the '50s, '60s and '70s such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Frank Sinatra."
