Over the past 30 years, Gerald Alley has been living his American Dream as the President/CEO and founder of Con-Real, the leading African-American-owned construction and real estate firm in the Southwest.
Alley has been active in all phases of construction and real estate activities at Con-Real, which is based in Arlington. Founded in 1979 with just two employees, Con-Real has grown into a full-service construction and real estate company with a national presence.
While he was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Gerald Alley moved to Arlington in 1980 where he met his wife, Dr. Candace Alley. Gina, Stephanie, and Byron, the couple's three children, all attended Arlington schools.
Alley also worked with the Arlington City Council to adopt a Local & Minority/Woman Business Enterprise (MWBE) policy on December 3, 2013. The policy encourages full participation for local and MWBE suppliers in all phases of City procurement and subcontracting opportunities.
Alley has received numerous national, state, and local awards recognizing his commitment of excellence. In March 2017, the Texas Rangers and The Cordish Companies announced that Con-Real, in a joint venture partnership with Manhattan Company, will construct Texas Live!, a $250 million world-class development set to open in Arlington's Entertainment District in 2018.
In addition to his real estate firm, Gerald Alley founded the Candace Alley Family Foundation, which supports organizations providing for the needs of underprivileged students.
