1. Toronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park in Arlington

The Texas Rangers host the Toronto Blue Jays at Globe Life Park in Arlington this weekend for the second home series of the 2018 season. The Rangers will play at 7:05 p.m. CT on Friday and Saturday, and at 2:05 p.m. CT on Sunday. Fans will enjoy a fireworks show after the game on Friday and the first 15,000 fans will receive a Dr Pepper/Brookshire's Elvis Andrus Bobblehead. On Sunday, the first 7,500 fans ages 13 & under will receive a Dasani Rangers Pocket Tee.

2. Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, continues its 57th season in The American Dream City. The park will open this weekend for guests to enjoy their favorite coasters and attractions, while preparations continue for the late spring debut of the ultimate Super-Villain thrill ride-HARLEY QUINN Spinsanity. The park's operating hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. 3. Arlington Public Library's El Dia in the Courtyard

El Dia in the Courtyard is a fun-filled Arlington Public Library event to celebrate diversity and literature. Everyone is invited to this new program at the East Arlington Branch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 7. El Dia in the Courtyard will promote the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds through community performances, activities, and a visit from an award-winning children's book team.

4. RED at Theatre Arlington

Winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Play, RED by John Logan, opens this weekend at Theatre Arlington in Downtown. The show runs through Sunday, April 15, 2018. RED features some adult language and is appropriate for ages 16 and up.

  • Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday & Saturday at 8 p.m.
  • Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

5. Live Music at Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club

Head over to Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club in Downtown Arlington for two nights of live music this weekend. On Friday night, Derek Lee performs at 9 p.m. On Saturday night, residents and visitors can check out RADIO KAOS. Veterans of the DFW music scene, each member of RADIO KAOS has played with some of the most talented bands and musicians in Texas. That show also starts at 9 p.m. Grease Monkey is located at 200 N Mesquite St, Arlington, TX 76011.

6. Jimmy Fortune at Arlington Music Hall

Jimmy Fortune has performed in all of the United States, in Canadian Provinces, and in front of audiences as large as 100,000 people. Jimmy Fortune and The Statler Brothers were inducted into the GMA (Gospel Music Association) Hall of Fame on October 29, 2007, and inducted into the CMA (Country Music Association) Hall of Fame in June 29, 2008. He will perform at Arlington Music Hall this Friday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available online at Arlington Music Hall's website. 7. Annual UTA Glass Art Sale & Show

Paperweights, goblets, jewelry, abstract sculptures and more pieces of art created by students and faculty from The University of Texas at Arlington's Art and Art History program will be up for sale at the annual Glass Art Sale and Show on April 7 at the Studio Arts Center, located at 810 S. Davis St. The show runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a silent auction that goes live at 2 p.m. The sale includes more than 3,000 glass items. The silent auction will feature 10 to 15 more substantial works by advanced students, faculty and visiting artists.

8. Legal Draft Crawfish Boil

Enjoy hot boiled crawfish at Legal Draft in Downtown Arlington from Boudreaux's Crawfish Boils this Saturday, April 7 from noon until supplies run out! For information about hours of operation and upcoming events, please visit www.legaldraftbeer.com.

9. Bark & Brew at Division Brewing

Bring the kids and the dog, meet the neighbors, chat about your vision for Downtown Arlington, hear the update on MyAbram construction, and plan downtown's next popup project! Bark & Brew at Division Brewing takes place this Saturday, April 7 from 2-6 p.m.

UTA Planetarium continues to offer shows to residents and visitors. This includes Spacepark 360: Infinity, a planetarium show designed to recreate the experience of amusement park thrill rides, roller coasters, pendulums, inverters and more.
