In this Neighborhood Network News edition, you'll get important tips on how to keep your summer water bill in check, learn more about street, park and library improvements, join a block party with our newest Meet the Neighbors episode, and much more.

Water Wise: Arlington Water Utilities customers used an average of 75 million gallons a day in June, nearly 30 percent more water on average than in June 2017. It's a trend that's not surprising given the recent hot, dry weather. Arlington Water's customer service representatives are available to answer questions about water use and billing, and Arlington Water's website and social media pages offer tips and information all year long to help customers be water wise.

Bond Tracker: Our Bond Tracker segment for MyArlingtonTV is designed to keep residents informed about the progress of construction on dozens of projects that were included in the City's bond elections. This month's episode features Deaver Park improvements, which were approved by Arlington voters in the 2014 Bond Program. The southwest Arlington park will receive a longer walking trail, shaded playground areas and other amenities.

Meet the Neighbors: The latest episode of Meet the Neighbors takes us to southeast Arlington, where the La Frontera homeowners association recently celebrated with the help of the City of Arlington's free Block Party Trailer. Street Tracker: Our Street Tracker segment for MyArlingtonTV aims to provide transparency and up-to-date information on both current and proposed street maintenance and construction projects throughout The American Dream City. Our latest episode features the $544,000 Matlock Road Maintenance Project, which replaced the worst of the broken concrete panels on this highly-traveled stretch of roadway near Interstate 20. These repairs, funded by the quarter-cent Street Maintenance Sales Tax, are designed to extend the lifespan of the roadway and create a smoother ride for drivers.

Woodland West Library: The Woodland West Branch Library will close temporarily while the front doors, façade and public restrooms are updated. Patrons are encouraged to use the new George W. Hawkes Downtown Library or the Lake Arlington Branch during construction, which is set to be complete in November. Arlington residents approved these improvements in the 2014 bond election.

As always, we would appreciate you sharing this information with your neighbors and your neighborhood association. Together we can spread the word about the good things happening in Arlington to foster community pride and engagement. And thank you for your work to make Arlington: The American Dream City a better place to live, learn, work and play.
