Race in Context Conference to Feature Hip Hop Artist, TV Host Fonzworth Bentley

The University of Texas at Arlington Center for African American Studies presents its inaugural conference Critical Issues in Black Studies: Race in Context next month.

The event will be held May 2-3, 2013 in the Rosebud Theatre of the E. H. Hereford University Center, 300 W. First Street.

Keynote speakers, including political analyst Ivory Toldson and entertainer, author and fashion designer Derek "Fonzworth Bentley" Watkins, will discuss social issues impacting blacks in America. A community forum concludes the event.

The conference is free and open to the public. Those planning to attend should register online at www.uta.edu/caas. Please note that Thursday's event featuring Bentley is catered to students only.
