All-Star Week Experience for HBCU Baseball Student-Athletes to Take Place at Globe Life Field in Arlington July 12, 2024
Major League Baseball, the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA), the MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation (YDF) and the Texas Rangers announced that tickets are now on sale to the public for the 2024 “HBCU Swingman Classic presented by T-Mobile & powered by the MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation”.
The game will be played during MLB All-Star Week at Globe Life Field, home of the World Champion and All-Star Week hosts Texas Rangers, on Friday, July 12, beginning at 7 p.m., LIVE on MLB Network.
Fans can purchase individual tickets now exclusively at Rangers.com. Main concourse seats (between foul poles) are $20 per ticket while Outfield Mezzanine seats are $15. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to the MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation.
The HBCU Swingman Classic presented by T-Mobile & powered by the MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation is an annual All-Star experience for baseball student-athletes from Division-I programs at Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU). The philanthropic & educational event will center around an “All-Star” game and also will be complemented by various HBCU-inspired ceremonies and performances as well as a community-focused engagement.
The HBCU Swingman Classic will highlight the history and legacy of HBCU baseball programs while also providing 50 HBCU baseball players with the opportunity to showcase their talent on a national stage. The student-athletes will be selected by a committee that will include YDF Ambassador & Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr., representatives from MLB, the MLBPA, and scouts.
