The Arlington Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that resulted in the deaths of two people.
On November 23, 2024, at approximately 10:22 p.m., officers responded to an apartment in the 600 block of Slaughter Street to investigate reports of shots fired. When they arrived on scene, they found a 19-year-old male and an 18-year-old female unresponsive in the living room of the apartment. Both of them had multiple apparent gunshot wounds. The 19-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 18-year-old woman was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased from her injuries.
Witnesses told officers after they heard gunshots, they saw a group of individuals run from the direction of the apartment, get into a vehicle, and drive away.
No arrests have been made at this time. Investigators continue to canvas the area for surveillance footage, evidence, and additional witnesses. Multiple shell casings were recovered from the scene.
It does not appear anything was stolen from either of the victims. Detectives learned neither of them lived at the complex and the young man had rented the apartment for the weekend through a short-term rental site.
