Dog of the Week - Meet Kobe
This just over six years old male Pit Bull Terrier mix is tan and white in color and weighs 53 pounds. Kobe is a gentle and loving soul who's been patiently waiting at the shelter for over 80 days for his forever family. This sweet boy has already made headlines, appearing on Fox 4, where he charmed everyone with his calm demeanor and friendly interactions. If Kobe were human, we'd call him "soft-spoken" – he's the kind of dog who exudes quiet confidence and a warm heart. He is a dream on a leash, knows commands like "sit," and has impeccable car manners. On his trip to the news studio in Dallas, he handled the car ride and busy streets admirably and did great in the news room with the bright lights and extra people. And as soon as he found some grass (outside, of course!) he took care of his business – what a good boy! Despite shelter life causing him to develop "happy tail" (a minor issue from wagging his tail against hard surfaces – a testament to his joyfulness!), Kobe's spirit remains unshaken. Due to his length of stay in the shelter, Kobe is considered a VIP with a reduced adoption fee. Meet Kobe at Dog Adoptions (DA)18, his ID number is A56655723.
Second Dog of the Week - Meet Bruno
This one year, seven months old male Shepherd mix is brown and black in color and weighs 47 pounds. One might say, "We don't talk about Bruno"—but that's not how we feel. We WANT to talk about Bruno, a lively and fun-loving young pup who's been waiting at the shelter for over 38 days to find his perfect match. Full of energy and enthusiasm makes him the ideal companion for an active adopter who loves playtime and adventure. Like many young dogs, Bruno is still mastering his manners, but he's eager to learn and responds well to a squeaky toy or a treat. Outside, he shows off his adorable "zoomies" as he lets his energy out. After burning off some steam, Bruno does much better on the leash, proving he's got the potential to be a great walking buddy. He certainly loves being out and about in the play yard and was reluctant to go back in the kennel. His VIP status, due to length of time in the shelter, means he can be adopted at a reduced adoption fee. Meet Bruno in Dog Adoptions (DA) 9, his ID number is A57050602.
Adoption fees include all core vaccinations, alteration and microchip.
