Fiscal Year 2024, which ended Sept. 30, marked the 17th year of the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation’s commitment to contribute to a Thriving Arlington.
Since 2017, the city’s largest charitable endowment has underwritten more than 500 programs or projects totaling $44.9 million for local nonprofits and City of Arlington departments. The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation believes in the power of philanthropy to ensure that residents are cared for physically and mentally, are enriched by arts, cultural and educational programming, and have access to meaningful resources and opportunities to help them achieve their American Dream.
In the past year, the foundation underwrote more than $1.7 million in programming and capital projects designed to address food insecurity, enrich cultural and recreational experiences, help animals, seniors and children, and support the nonprofit sector’s fundraising efforts during North Texas Giving Day.
The foundation’s largest gifts in the past year were $500,000 to the Meadowbrook Park’s All-Inclusive Playground, $500,000 for the new MLB & Texas Rangers All-Star Legacy Park, $200,000 to Arlington Charities to fight hunger in our community, and $150,000 for improvements to Arlington Animal Services.
Other projects supported include $100,000 for the Downtown Arlington Doggie Depot, $5,000 for the Opera Arlington 2024-2025 season; $10,000 to Trinity Kids, Inc. to support its Royal Family Kids Camp for foster children and $25,000 to Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County for a nutrition program.
