Levitt Arlington and the City of Arlington Mayor’s Latino Advisory Council will once again team up to host a free Hispanic Heritage Celebration in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

This third installment of the popular festival, scheduled from 5 to 10 p.m., will feature a four-artist concert lineup spanning salsa, mariachi, and Tejano/R&B music genres, a vendor shopping market, and food trucks offering tacos, tortas, micheladas and more. Levitt Pavilion Arlington is located at 100 W. Abram St. just south of City Hall in Downtown.

“We are proud to bring our community together to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, and honor the traditions and contributions of Hispanic and Latino culture,” said Kathleen Ramon Venable, a member of the Mayor’s Latino Advisory Council and an event organizer. “This celebration is a moment to reflect on the past and inspire inclusiveness and joy for the future, as well as an opportunity for people from all backgrounds to experience and enjoy our culture’s music and cuisine. We look forward to welcoming all community members to the Levitt lawn for what is sure to be another wonderful event.”

The highlight of the celebration will be a headline performance by Latin Grammy-nominated artist Jay Perez, a Tejano music icon known for his innovative style, soulful vocals, and versatility.

Starting his career as a drummer and vocalist for various bands, Perez rose to prominence in the 1990s when he launched his solo career. His chart-topping albums blend traditional Tejano sounds with elements of pop, R&B, and country music, creating a unique fusion that has captivated audiences worldwide. Throughout his career, Perez has received numerous accolades, including several Tejano Music Awards, solidifying his position as one of the most respected figures in the genre. His timeless hits, such as "Yo Tengo Un Amor" and "Si Tu Te Vas," continue to resonate with fans of all ages, leaving a lasting impact on the Tejano music landscape.

Other performers scheduled to appear at the event include popular dance/mariachi/salsa artists Salsa At the Gardens, Mariachi Fuzion and Havana NRG.

“Levitt Arlington is honored that the Mayor’s Latino Advisory Council and other organizations continue to partner with the Levitt to offer free cultural events that celebrate the rich diversity of our community,” said Letatia Teykl, Executive Director of the Levitt Arlington non-profit organization and concert venue. “If you’re a Tejano, salsa or mariachi music fan, or just a fan of great music, you won’t want to miss this outstanding lineup of artists.”
