As the weather cools off, there’s nothing better than a visit to the park on a crisp autumn day! Mark your calendar for these upcoming October events with Arlington Parks and Recreation.

Oktoberfest – Friday, October 4

Enjoy live German-themed music, yard games, food trucks, beverages and more at this year’s Oktoberfest celebration! Join us at S.J. Stovall Park on Friday, October 4 from 6-10 PM. This event is FREE to attend. New this year, grab a limited edition Oktoberfest stein that comes with a ticket for one free beer. Limited quantity available on first come first serve basis.

Phantom Lights – Saturday, October 5

It’s time to light up the night with floating lanterns and spooky fun at Cliff Nelson’s second annual Phantom Lights event! Decorate your lantern, watch it float on the pond, then enjoy a dance party and costume contest under the stars. Lanterns are first come, first served. This all-ages event is free to attend! We'll have vendors, food for purchase, a bounce house, games, and live music to enjoy from 6-8 PM.

Harvest Splash – Friday, October 18

East Indoor Pool will be hosting a floating pumpkin patch from 5-7 PM on October 18! Find your perfect pumpkin and decorate it in the Party Room, then take photos with it at the photo booth. All participants must register. An adult must be in the water with all non-swimmers, 3-5 year-olds, and individuals wearing lifejackets. It’s a festive fall event you won’t want to miss!

Trail-or-Treat – Friday, October 18

East Library and Recreation Center will host a spook-tacular Trail-or-Treat event on Friday, October 18! Come out for fun games, vendors, trick-or-treating, and more from 6-8 PM. Wear your costumes and enjoy this free family-friendly celebration! No registration required.

Dottie Lynn’s In-Tents Campout – Saturday, October 19

Experience the ultimate fall family campout adventure at Dottie Lynn Recreation Center! Set up your tents and light your lanterns for a night filled with creativity, delicious s'mores, and endless family fun. Participate in tent decorating, enjoy entertaining games, and bond with fellow campers under the stars in this unforgettable outdoor celebration.

Cozy Camp-o-Ween – Friday, October 25

Gather the family for a frightfully fun Halloween experience at The Beacon, complete with camping, spooky stories, thrilling movies, and exciting activities. Enjoy delicious food truck treats, participate in games, and let the Halloween magic unfold in the great outdoors! Don your best costumes and join us for an unforgettable night of ghostly good times and cozy campfire memories. Each registration is for a 10x10-feet space. This will fit a family of 4. If more space is needed, please register accordingly.
