Dog of the Week – Meet Goober
This ten-year-old male Pit Bull Terrier mix is brown, black and white in color and weighs 58 pounds. This sweet, senior pooch has a special fondness for treats and enjoys spending time outdoors. Goober did well on the leash during his walks, though he’s still learning the difference between doorways and windows—his curious nature keeps him exploring! He loves watching the action at the dog park and keeping an eye on the parking lot from our play yards. After a day of adventure, Goober is more than happy to come inside and cuddle up on his bed. He may even be house-trained! Due to his being a senior pooch, he has been designated a VIP in the shelter. Adoption pricing specials are still being offered as part of the Clear the Shelter initiative. If you’re looking for a gentle and curious companion, Goober might just be the perfect addition to your family. Meet Goober at Dog Holding (DH) 113, his ID number is A56532552.
Second Dog of the Week – Meet Lizzie
This one year, nine-month-old female Labrador Retriever mix is black and white in color and weighs 47 pounds. A spirited younger dog, Lizzie is eagerly waiting for her furever home. We call her BBG (Bad Behind Glass) as she can be a bit vocal about other dogs around her kennel door, but don't let that fool you—she’s full of love and energy! Outside in the play yard, Lizzie shows off her playful side with zoomies and adorable play bows. She did great on the leash during her walk and even knows how to sit, though she’s more interested in squeaker toys and watching her doggy friends at the dog park. Despite her excitement, Lizzie didn’t bark at the other dogs; she just sat quietly, taking it all in. Although she was reluctant to come back inside, she went into her kennel without a fuss and calmly watched as the staff person left. VIP status due to be being "BBG" (not bad to the bone!). Meet Lizzie in Dog Holding (DH) 301, her ID number is A56557948.
Adoption fees include all core vaccinations, alteration and microchip.
