APD employees and kids playing video games inside GameUp 5-0 Gaming Trailer

As a leader in community policing, the Arlington Police Department is constantly working to find new and innovative ways to engage with community members -- especially the city's youth. It's why the department launched GameUp 5-0, a program designed to build connections through video games.

About the Program

When it first launched in 2021, GameUp 5-0 brought together APD employees and local students for video game tournaments. But now, we're taking things to the next level!

Introducing the NEW GameUp 5-0 Gaming Trailer!

This state-of-the-art mobile gaming center allows the department to take the fun on the road and out into the community! It's equipped with Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles, as well as a racing simulator and virtual reality system.

All of the gaming stations on the trailer, both interior and exterior, contain family-friendly games. During events, community members have the opportunity to play games alongside APD employees.

The GameUp 5-0 Gaming Trailer was made possible by a $175,000 grant from the U.S. Conference of Mayors and Target. The department would like to thank both organizations for their generous support.
