Dog of the Week – Meet Bear
This just over one year old male German Shepherd mix is black and tan in color and weighs 45 pounds. Bear has been a resident at our shelter for 21 days. This VIP, due to his length of time in the shelter, is a bundle of joy, and we’re eager to find him the perfect home. He is a smart and treat-motivated pup who already knows commands like "shake" and "sit." He's eager to learn more and would love to show off his skills for you. Bear walks well on a leash, although his excitement to explore can sometimes make him forget his manners for the first couple of minutes outside his kennel. Playing with toys and spending time outdoors with our volunteers, staff, and potential adopters are his favorite things to do. His enthusiasm for playtime and his loving nature make him a worthy companion for active individuals or families who can give him the exercise and attention he craves. Cat of the Week – Meet Winston
This nearly nine months old male kitten is a black Domestic Shorthair. Winston is a charming laid-back feline friend who has been patiently waiting for over 50 days to find a forever home. Other cats have come and gone, yet this even-keeled kitty is still here. Every time the staff has gone to clean his kennel he seems to be lounging contentedly, perfectly at ease with his surroundings.The only exception is when his food bowl is empty and being refilled. And boy does this guy love wet food! While he hasn't shown much interest in toys, he thrives on the love and attention he receives, making him the perfect cuddle buddy for a quiet night in. Winston is an FIV positive kitty so is considered a VIP with a reduced adoption fee. FIV cats, like Winston, can live long healthy lives with proper care and lots of love.
