The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that resulted in the death of a 36-year-old Arlington woman.

On Friday, July 05, 2024, at 11:38 a.m., officers responded to the 2200 block of NW Green Oaks Blvd after receiving a call regarding a vehicle striking a concrete structure head-on. When officers arrived, they learned that the 36-year-old driving a Jeep Cherokee was traveling southbound in the inside lane in the 2200 block of NW Green Oaks Blvd when it veered right across all lanes and left the roadway.  The vehicle struck a guide wire for an electrical pole, then hit a concrete structure head-on.

The cause of the accident remains unknown, and investigators are working to determine what lead up to the crash.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, and a 4-year-old passenger was transported to Cook’s Children’s Hospital for evaluation. At this time, it is unknown why the vehicle left the roadway.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s name once next of kin have been notified.
