Dog of the Week – Meet Huxley
This eight years, one and a half months old male German Shepherd mix is tan, black, and white in color and weighs 75 pounds. The new year has arrived and it's time for a fresh start. How about adding to your resolution list that you will adopt an animal from the animal shelter? There are many deserving and lovable animals just waiting for a new "furever" home. One of our deserving shelter animals is Huxley. He has spent more than 43 days in our care. While he is considered a senior pooch, he is just a big lug of a dog that thinks he is still a pup. Playful like a pup, he even seems to love with the purest of hearts. He walks well on leash and seems to enjoy every moment as he gets to explore his territory. His resolution list would include moments to enjoy outside of the shelter with a family to call his own. Due to the length of time he has spent in the shelter and his "senior" age status, Huxley has achieved VIP status. The upside of VIP status means he can be adopted at a reduced adoption fee. Meet Huxley at Dog Adoptions (DA) 14, his ID number is A5480593.
Second Dog of the Week – Meet Ripley
This seven years, one and a half months old female Shepherd mix is brown and black in color and weighs 41 pounds. Believe it or not, Ripley has been in the shelter more than 53 days—too long for any shelter resident. She is also a "senior" resident ready to go home with a new pet guardian. She might be a little smaller in stature but makes up for it by being all heart. Spending time with volunteers or staff members seems to make her heart sing and allows her a chance to show off her curious nature. Socialization time in the play yard allows her the opportunity to observe the comings and goings at the adjacent dog park. How she seems to yearn to be among those dogs at the dog park! Ripley has achieved VIP status allowing her to be adopted at a reduced adoption fee. Meet Ripley at Dog Adoptions (DA) 5, her ID number is A54744004.
Adoption fees include all core vaccinations, alteration and microchip.
