Arlington’s Bad Königshofen and Randol Mill Family Aquatic Centers and Public Splash Pads Open for 2023 Swim Season on Memorial Day Weekend

Get ready for some fun in the sun! The City of Arlington’s Bad Königshofen Family Aquatic Center, Randol Mill Family Aquatic Center and its three free outdoor splash pads open on this Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-May 29, 2023.
The City’s other outdoor pools, Allen Bolden, Woodland West and Howard Moore pools, will open for the season Saturday, June 3. The family aquatic centers and the outdoor splash pads remain open through Labor Day weekend in early September, while the smaller outdoor pools will close Aug. 6. Memorial Day Weekend Pool Hours
Bad Königshofen Family Aquatic Center

- Noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 27
- 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 28
- Noon to 6 p.m. Monday, May 29 (Memorial Day)
Admission: $8 for under 48 inches, $9 for 48 inches and above, free for those 12 months and under.
Randol Mill Family Aquatic Center

- Noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 27
- 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 28
- Noon to 6 p.m. Monday, May 29 (Memorial Day)
Admission: $8 for under 48 inches, $9 for 48 inches and above, free for those 12 months and under.
Memorial Day Military Discount
Additionally, the Arlington Parks and Recreation Aquatics Division would like to thank of all those who have served by offering a special discount this Memorial Day Weekend. Present your military ID (veterans and active duty) and receive half-price admission on Monday, May 29.
Splash Pads
Arlington’s free outdoor splash pads are open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Afterwards, they will remain open only on weekends through the end of September. Click here for more information on splash pads.

The Beacon Recreation Center at 1100 Mansfield Webb Road in southeast Arlington also features a splash pad. The Beacon's splash pad will be open Memorial Day from noon to 4 p.m. This splash pad features a water maze and spray ground as well as covered shelters available for rent. Splash pad use is available for members or enjoy access with an $8 day pass.
As a reminder, the Helen Wessler Play Pool permanently closed in 2022. The East Library and Recreation Center Indoor Pool and the Arlington ISD Natatorium are open to Arlington residents year-round.
Also, Arlington operates its aquatics facilities following policies, practices and protocols designed to protect public health as outlined in its Bakari Williams Protocol, which was implemented in 2022. Residents can scan QR codes on signs at the City’s pools and splash pads or visit the Aquatics webpage to see a public dashboard with information about water quality based on the latest water samples.

Upcoming Summer Aquatics Events
Dive Into the Library Reading Club
Each child who earns an Arlington Public Library reading club certificate will get a free swim pass good for one free admission at any City of Arlington pool from Monday through Thursday, June 3-Aug. 4. Sensory Swim at Randol Mill Family Aquatics Centers

Father’s Day Swim
Dads will receive free admission at all City of Arlington pools with purchase of a child’s admission on Saturday, June 17.
Splash N Dash
Join Arlington for the inaugural Splash & Dash Junior Triathlon at the East Library and Recreation Center indoor pool from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 8. Cost is $35 per participant, which includes registration, finisher’s medal and post-race snack. Athletes will swim laps in indoor pool before heading outside to bike and run around Bob Cooke Park. Participants should bring their own bike, towels and other desired equipment. Click here to register.
Back to School Splash
Bring a new school supply and receive $2 off admission at any City of Arlington pool from Aug. 4 to Aug. 13. For supplies needed, visit MissionArlington.org.
