2023 is here! It’s a brand new year and a great time to try something new. Mark your calendar for these upcoming January events with Arlington Parks and Recreation.

Dottie Demo Days – January 9-13

Interested in trying out all the new fitness classes at Dottie Lynn Recreation Center? Join us for Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Qigong, Silver Strength, Zumba, and Boot Camp! Best Part? It's FREE for this week only! Call Dottie Lynn Recreation Center at 817-277-5001 for more information.

MLK Day of Service Festival – Monday, January 16

Celebrate the contributions of community volunteers at the MLK Day of Service Festival in Downtown Arlington on January 16! This event from 10 AM – 2 PM will showcase the MLK essay contest winner, local dance troupes and exercise groups, the Tarrant County College traveling timeline, and informational videos on MLK Jr. Come enjoy this FREE family-focused event with face painting, imagination playground, and great community entertainment!

Elzie Day Trip Adventures – Monday, January 16

Pack your bags, because we are going on an adventure! Elzie Odom Athletic Center will offer a day jam-packed with activities such as gym sports, games, arts and crafts, and much more, with a special field trip to It’z Arcade. Ages 5-12. Pre-registration required. Spend your day off having a fun adventure with Elzie!

Senior Movie Monday (50+ yrs) – Monday, January 16

Seniors, join us at East for popcorn and a movie every third Monday of the month this spring! This week we will be watching "The Love Bug" (1969). Must be 50+ years of age and have an annual Senior Activity Pass to participate. This pass is $25.00 for residents of Arlington or $35.00 for non-residents to enjoy a year's worth of senior activities.

BAD Art Night – Friday, January 20

Calling all art enthusiasts, parents looking for a date night, and Bob Ross lovers! Come out to our themed Parents' Night Out at East Library and Recreation Center, where we provide childcare and activity for your date. We'll have refreshments for you to snack on while we follow a guided painting lesson. Childcare separate.
