City Council established the City Facility and Honorary Street Naming Policy in 2019 to provide guidelines regarding requests for naming or renaming of City facilities and the designation of honorary street names. The current policy was amended and approved by the City Council in January 2023.

In August 2023, the City Council decided to suspend public nominations for Honorary Street Naming, and there are no current applications under consideration.
