Tomorrow Foundation Awards Four New Grants

Building on the first fifteen years of operation and more than $41 million in giving, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation’s board of directors approved four new grants worth $460,000 to local non-profits during their May board meeting. Grants awarded this month, include:

Cancer Care Services’ Journey of Hope - $30,000

Cancer Care Services supports cancer patients and empowers survivors to reduce the impact of cancer. The Journey of Hope team works to ensure cancer patients, and their loved ones, have access to life sustaining medical care, case management and cancer treatment plans that assist with practical and financial concerns.

Friends of the Levitt Pavilion’s Share the Stage Program - $50,000

The Levitt Pavilion’s goal for 2022 is to reach an audience of 100,000 by booking at least 100 artists which will be presented live on stage and through streaming content. The Levitt’s Share the Stage initiative, which launched in 2021, is providing a public platform for attracting and retaining local music talent and is committed to hiring locally based, opening acts for each headliner performance.

Methodist Health System Foundation’s Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Bachelor of Sciences Program at Methodist Mansfield - $350,000

This Methodist Health System collaboration will help mitigate the critical nursing shortage in North Texas and minimize gaps between providers and patients in need. Upon acceptance into the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center BSN Program at Methodist Mansfield, nursing students gain access to high-quality education, real life clinical training and career development opportunities in their own backyard.

SafeHaven of Tarrant County Facility Upgrades - $30,000

SafeHaven is the largest and most comprehensive domestic violence agency in North Texas providing services at no cost to domestic violence victims and their children. SafeHaven prides itself in giving the victims who reside in our shelter a clean, welcoming, and functional environment and this funding is for the repainting of the interior of our Arlington emergency domestic violence shelter where victims begin journeys of safety and stability that lead to freedom from violence.

The foundation’s mission is to contribute to a thriving Arlington by supporting the causes which benefit Arlington’s citizens and enhance the natural surroundings and lifestyle of the city. Since its creation, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation has awarded over $41 million to Arlington nonprofit organizations, City departments and neighborhood groups for projects that help our community. The foundations official 15th Anniversary celebration will be held during North Texas Giving Day on September 22, 2022, at the Levitt Pavilion.
