Tavian Harris endured various hardships throughout her life. It was through her experiences, she birthed the nonprofit Seasons of Change, Inc.

“At the end of my spectrum, the lens that I view is to be able to help a young person dream for better,” Harris said. “And being able to do that every single day, I’m living my American Dream. Seasons of Change is a nonprofit that believes in giving back to others. We all go through seasons in our life and each season is different.”

Seasons of Change, Incorporated’s mission began in 2001. Research by Harris and her team uncovered an enormous lack of community support for vulnerable and marginalized youth.  To fill this unmet need, the organization created an initiative called the Community Changers Project, which was designed to provide an intervention that promotes improvement of the overall health and well-being of adolescents and adults.

Seasons of Change operates as an independent 501(c)(3) organization. Since its founding, the nonprofit has dramatically expanded our programming to include crisis intervention, transitional housing, pregnant and parenting teen services, counseling, education, and outreach to neglected, abused, and youth and adults.

Since 2001, Seasons of Change has had an open door to children, youth and families in crisis serving over 10,000 individuals in the last two years. By improving each client’s chances for long-term stability, Season of Change works to create pathways out of poverty for those most vulnerable in the communities we serve.
