Digital literacy means having the skills you need to learn and live in a society where access to information and communication is increasingly important through technology. The Arlington Public Library has created a class to help those looking to improve their digital skills. DigitALL is a six-week series that will teach students the skills to thrive in the digital world. These classes are available for adults 18 and older. This is an in-person class and a library card is not required to register for or to attend a class.
Topics the classes will cover:
- Computer basics
- Familiarization with hardware, practice keyboarding and mousing
- Learning to use Google Drive, Docs, Sheets
- Using internet and online meeting platforms such as Zoom
- Learn to use email
- Learn about internet safety and privacy
- Job search skills including building a resume and learning how to complete online applications.
Classes will be at the East Library and Recreation Center. Please see calendar to register.
There is also a series of three computer classes in Spanish the week November 7, 2021. Conceptos básicos de la computadora y como usarla, Seguridad en internet & Búsqueda de trabajo. These classes are from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the East Library. Students are not required to have a library card, but online registration is required.
Other computer classes offered at East are Learn to use Google Apps, Graphic Design – Using Canva, and Learning the Basic of Photo Editing – Using Pixlr. These classes are from 10 – 11:30 a.m. No library card needed. Registration is required.
