Camp Thurman, a nonprofit founded on Christian principles, is wrapping up its summer season. And while this would normally mean the end of students on the campgrounds just outside Arlington, not this year.
With many students returning to school in a virtual setting, Camp Thurman leaders decided their services could be just as valuable this fall.
"In this new season, we would like to offer programs which combine the fun, playful atmosphere of our summer camp programming with the wonderful skill development offered in our teambuilding programs," said a Camp Thurman spokesperson. "We believe this whole-child approach is the perfect complement to the virtual school environment that traditional schools are providing."
Camp Thurman will offer two options to help families fill that gap.
From Aug. 31 to Sept. 25, 2020, the camp is offering half-day programs. The cost is $100 per week to attend three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) or $150 per week to attend daily, Monday through Friday. The program is open to children ages 5 through 12.
