Residents and business owners in Arlington, Grand Prairie and Mansfield have a chance to learn more about the $330 million SH 360 South Project during an open house scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 at the Mansfield Timberview High School cafeteria.

More than 100 people attended the Oct. 21 groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of this 9.7 mile project, which stretches from Green Oaks Boulevard to U.S. 287. It will help ease congestion in and around Arlington, Grand Prairie and Mansfield. The project should also enhance safety and generate economic development in the area.

The new four-lane toll road will provide drivers with an alternate way to travel this rapidly-developing corridor in southern Tarrant County. By 2030, an estimated 174,000 drivers a day will drive the 9.7 mile corridor.

TxDOT will build and finance the first phase of the project, which is projected to be substantially completed in late 2017.

In addition to the $330 million being paid by TxDOT, the City of Arlington will provide $1.1 million for intersection improvements on Webb Lynn Road, Sublett Road, Debbie Lane and New York Avenue. An additional $3.2 in funding from the 2014 Bond Election will help realign the New York Avenue/ Eden Road intersection.
