Everest College, a nonprofit career training institution, recently invited local community members in Arlington to learn more about the college and the new American Dream Scholarship, a multi-million-dollar institutional scholarship program that awards eligible first-time students up to $5,000 per academic year.
In February of this year Everest College-Mid-Cities was purchased by the non-profit Zenith Education Group, and since that time, reduced tuition by 20 percent and offer grants to students in financial need. In addition, they recently launched the American Dream Scholarship.
To apply for the scholarship, candidates must receive a reference from a local community leader and submit an essay that answers the question, "How will Everest College help me fulfill my American dream?" Essays may be submitted as either a short video or 250-word written essay. There is no limit on the number of scholarships that Everest Mid Cities plans to award.
Everest College Mid-Cities offers hands-on post-secondary programs in healthcare, skilled construction trades and business administration that prepare students for jobs in demand. Curriculum is geared toward job readiness and employment, and students can complete most programs in one year or less. Many programs include work site externships for students as well as free job placement guidance for graduates.
