The newest Culture Buzz segment on MyArlingtonTV features the Arlington Music Hall, which has a rich history as an entertainment hot spot in Downtown.
The Music Hall, part of The American Dream City's Cultural District in Downtown Arlington, recently installed new, larger cup holder seats. The seats were in place for David Archuleta's performance on Friday, July 27, 2018.
Archuleta became a star when he was just 16. In 2008, more than 30 million television viewers fell in love with his angelic voice and their 44 million votes made him runner-up in Season 7 of "American Idol." He's not the only big name to appear at the Arlington Music Hall this summer. They also featured Billy Bob Thornton & The Boxmasters earlier this month.
The venue originally opened in 1950 as a movie theater with the feature film Sea Biscuit starring Shirley Temple. The movie premiere was followed by a memorable on stage performance by a local band ‘The Flying Ranch Hands' who later became known as ‘The Light Crust Dough Boys'. Today, the Arlington Music Hall continues to host a wide range of experiences for all ages - Country, Pop, Rock, Classical, Comedy and Musical Theatre.
Residents and visitors will find ticket information and a calendar of upcoming concerts at the Arlington Music Hall's website. Residents can also call the box office at (817) 226-4400.
