Next Phase of Martin Luther King, Jr. Sports Center Completed
Arlington Parks and Recreation is proud to announce that the next phase of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Sports Center is now complete for residents to use in The American Dream City.
Phase II of the project, part of the 2008 Bond Election, included $1,393,000 in construction for park improvements and was finished up in the summer of 2015.
These improvements include the completion of two baseball fields, a 197-space parking lot, along with improved site irrigation and drainage.
The new fields have allowed space to bring in a new age group of three to four years old and Parks and Recreation says they plan to utilize these facilities for use in Little League District and Sectional tournaments.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Sports Center is located at 7001 Golf Club Dr., Arlington, TX 76001. Adjacent to Tierra Verde Golf Club, the center is part of the Reserve at Arlington.
The first Audubon sanctioned sports center in the United States, the design and maintenance of the complex is dedicated to environmental sensitivity.
