Event Friday Offers Free Pet Vaccines, Microchipping with Purchase of City License
Due to recent storms, the City of Arlington saw an increase in dogs and cats arriving at the shelter. Many of these family pets were returned home the same day thanks to pet identification. Arlington Animal Services would like to help families make it easier for their pets to be quickly identified and returned home safe if they ever become lost.
Pets owners can get their cats and dogs vaccinated for rabies and microchipped for free with the purchase of an Arlington city license from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday, April 14 at Arlington Animal Services. Licenses are $7 cash for this event and pets with proof of a current city license are eligible for a free microchip. Pet owners are asked to bring proof of Arlington residency.
All cats and dogs, four months or older, are required to be licensed in the City of Arlington. This license can make a huge difference in identifying your pet if it is found loose on the street or brought into the shelter. It also means saving you from paying the impound fee and providing your pet with a free ride home. Click here to find out more about pet licensing.
