In honor of International Compost Awareness Week in May, and to raise awareness regarding the many benefits of composting, the City of Arlington Master Composters will be giving away one Composting Startup Kit at their May 6 and May 13 Backyard Composting Classes.
Class participants at each location will enter their names for the drawing at the beginning of the class. A Master Composter will pull a name out of the basket at the end of the class. The winner will receive a Composting Startup Kit including a compost bin, thermometer and guide at the end of the class.
- May 6th - Veterans Park compost area - 3600 W. Arkansas Lane at Spanish Trail - 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- May 13th - River Legacy Living Science Center compost area - 703 NW Green Oaks Blvd (back parking lot area) - 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Classes start promptly at 9 a.m. Please dress for the weather. No need to register. Children welcome with parental or adult supervision. Must be present to win. In case of inclement weather, the class will be rescheduled.
