Celebrate the Season at the Holiday Lights Parade: Sat. Dec. 5, 2015
Get ready to turn on the lights in The American Dream City!
Arlington's annual Holiday Lights Parade is Saturday, December 5 at 6 p.m.
The fun all starts hours before the parade at 2 p.m., with live entertainment, food, and vendors in Downtown. Then the parade begins at 6 at the corner of S Center St. and E Main St. and ends at the corner of E Abram St. and S East St.
"Nothing kicks off the holiday season like spending time with family, friends and community at the Arlington Holiday Lights Parade,"Holiday Lights Parade Social Media Coordinator Jeannie Deakyne said. "There is something for everyone: floats, amazing local and world-class entertainment, beautiful lights, great food trucks. It truly is the one event of the year where the entire Arlington community can unite in the magic of the holidays as we celebrate our wonderful city."
The tree lighting, at 7:15 in front of City Hall, follows the parade. Mayor Jeff Williams, along with Santa Claus, has flip-the-switch honors to light the 50 foot blue spruce. Pictures with Santa will also follow from 7:15 to 8 at the Levitt Pavilion.
For the first time, this year's parade will make use of the Levitt Pavilion's new screen, Parade Director Elle Stubbs said. Immediately after the parade, at 7:15, The Muppet Christmas Carol will be shown on the lawn.
"What a great way to rekindle your holiday spirit, joining the community for some fresh air, relation and enjoyment with the family at the Parade of Lights,"Volunteer Coordinator Joyce Pinnow said. "This is a great way to be involved with making positive memories."
