Levitt Pavilion's 2017 Summer Concert Series

The annual summer concert series kicks off Friday, May 19 with Grammy award-winning artists Rebirth Brass Band. Visitors will be able to attend a free concert under the stars three nights a week, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through July 23. A few artists set to hit the stage this summer include Ambrosia, La Tropa F, Reckless Kelly, Sarah Jaffe, Los TexManiacs with Flaco Jimenez and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass Band. Arlington Parks & Recreation's Food Truck Fridays

The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department's Food Truck Fridays lunch series in Downtown Arlington wraps up this Friday, May 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Founders Plaza, 100 W Abram Street. The park is located next to the Levitt Pavilion, just south of Arlington City Hall. Each Friday will feature a new lineup of food trucks, allowing visitors the opportunity to taste and try out different fare. The food truck line-ups will be announced the Wednesday before each event at www.naturallyfun.org/foodtruck.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Temporary road closures are in effect until May 22 for sections of Abram Street, Mesquite Street and Center Street in Downtown because of ongoing work on the 101 Center mixed-use development project. Residents planning to attend Food Truck Friday or visit City Hall, the Levitt Pavilion/Founders Plaza or Municipal Court should take these closures into account when planning their route.

Minnesota Lynx vs. Dallas Wings at College Park Center

The Wings will open their home schedule this Saturday, May 20 against the three-time WNBA champion Minnesota Lynx at The University of Texas at Arlington's College Park Center in Downtown. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT. To purchase tickets, fans can go to www.dallaswings.com or they can call the box office at (817) 469-9464. The Wings play all home games at College Park Center, a state-of-the-art 7,000-seat arena located at 600 S Center St, Arlington, TX 76019. Kaela Davis scored 20 points in her WNBA debut, as the Wings opened the 2017 season with a 68-58 win over the Phoenix Mercury on May 14, 2017.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

From thrilling slides to relaxing pools, Arlington residents and visitors will be happy to hear that Hurricane Harbor is now open. The water park in Arlington's Entertainment District will be open both Saturday and Sunday, May 20 and 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor features 47 acres of water wonderland to enjoy. Milton H. Greene: Women Exhibit at Arlington Museum of Art

This summer, the Arlington Museum of Art will continue its tradition of photography exhibits with Milton Greene: Women, which opened on May 13 and will run through Aug 6. "Photography has been a huge success at the Arlington Museum of Art," Hightower said. "Our two most attended exhibits, Ansel Adams and Vivian Maier, were photography exhibits. I chose Milton Greene's work because he was famous for his work with celebrities in the '50s, '60s and '70s such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Frank Sinatra." Atlanta Rhythm Section at Arlington Music Hall

The Atlanta Rhythm Section, sometimes abbreviated ARS, is an American southern rock band, formed in 1971. The band's current lineup consists of founding members keyboardist Dean Daughtry and vocalist Rodney Justo, along with newer members, guitarists David Anderson and Steve Stone, bassist Justin Senker and drummer Rodger Stephan. The Atlanta Rhythm Section will be at the Arlington Music Hall this Friday, May 19, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. CT. Spring Shows at UTA Planetarium

UTA Planetarium has announced its spring schedule of shows through May 28, 2017. This lineup is featured in an episode of "Culture Buzz" and includes Phantom of the Universe, a new planetarium show that unveils scientists' efforts to explore Dark Matter. The show focuses on the Large Hadron Collider, the gigantic underground particle detector which is being used to explore the inner workings of the matter. Dark Matter is invisible and we only know of its existence due to its gravitational effect. It is believed that 85 percent of the matter in the universe is Dark Matter.
