In an effort to locate a murder suspect, the Arlington Police Department has worked with America's Most Wantedto seek the public's help with locating the man suspected of fatally shooting Austin Nguyen last summer. Tonight,America's Most Wanted aired a segment on the "Lifetime" cable network that featured Nam Bryan Tran, who has a felony warrant issued for his arrest as a suspect in the July 2011 shooting at an Arlington bar. Two photographs of the suspect are attached to this email. The one of him sitting in a chair is the most recent one.
Multiple witnesses at a bar in the 2400 block of East Arkansas Lane on Sunday, July 31, 2011, described seeing the victim and a suspect involved in a physical altercation inside the location. A short time later, one of the men began shooting. Once the shooting started, people quickly began to exit the bar. A woman was sitting in her vehicle outside the location, when the suspect got inside her car and forced her to drive away. That woman was forced out of her vehicle a couple of miles from the bar and the suspect drove away in her car. The woman was uninjured. Her car was recovered in Euless the next day.
The shooting victim, Austin Nguyen, was driven by ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth where he died. Mr. Nguyen, 36 of Fort Worth, was a telecommunications contractor. He was married and had two daughters, ages 11 and 4. His family would like to see the person responsible for their loved ones death taken into custody, so no other family has to go through the tragedy that they have experienced.
