MyArlingtonTV is taking a trip across The American Dream City to showcase some of the diverse musical acts happening in Arlington's schools, restaurants, churches and neighborhoods.
Hosted by Tika Cook, "Backstage Arlington" highlights some of the different music acts and performing venues that exist in Arlington. The newest episode features Symphony Arlington, representing more than 19 nations of musical talent, complemented with internationally renowned featured soloists.
Founded by Maestro Robert Carter Austin, Symphony Arlington launched a successful debut season in 2000. The orchestra is comprised of 93 professional musicians and currently performs at the historic Arlington Music Hall in Downtown.
A native of Tennessee, Robert Carter Austin is currently in his seventeenth season as Music Director of Symphony Arlington. You can read more about his accomplishments and his background as a classical musician on the Symphony Arlington website.
"Vienna, City of Music" is the title of Symphony Arlington's 2017-18 Season and will feature symphonies by Mozart (the "Jupiter"), Beethoven (the "Eroica"), Schubert (the "Great" Symphony No. 9 in C Major), and Mahler (the "Titan").
