Dream Builders is a show on MyArlingtonTV that highlights the ways our community is helping kids dream big, nurture their creativity, polish their skills and develop the tools they need to achieve their American Dream as young adults.
The latest Dream Builders episode focuses on Camp Be a Star at Theatre Arlington in Downtown, a week-long theater camp for transitional housing children in Arlington.
Through a partnership with the Arlington Independent School District, this unique camp teaches theatrical and communication skills and helps improve self-esteem and confidence.
While many episodes of Dream Builders include interviews with children, we have produced this month's segment focusing on the leaders of the camp to preserve the privacy of these children.
Each summer, Theatre Arlington hosts hundreds of aspiring student-actors in its summer camps. For more information, please visit www.theatrearlington.org or call (817) 261-9628. You will also find tickets for upcoming productions at the theatre, which is celebrating 46 years of live theater this season.
The City's Office of Communication develops programming for MyArlingtonTV. Viewers can find MyArlingtonTV programs on the following cable systems: Spectrum Channel 16 and AT&T U-Verse channel 99, and streaming capabilities at www.arlington-tx.gov.
All episodes of Dream Builders are also available on the City's YouTube channel, Facebook page and Twitter account.
