The University of Texas at Arlington is unveiling the new College Park Center Wednesday, February 1, 2012.
In anticipation of the event, the University has been working closely with the City of Arlington and the Arlington Police Department to develop a traffic and parking plan to move vehicles in and out of the area as smoothly as possible.
This information can be found on the College Park Center website.
UT Arlington encourages College Park Center visitors to check availability in the Park North and Park Center garages at UTA Boulevard and Center Street. The garages are north of the events center in the College Park District.
Campus police generally will direct traffic first to the College Park garages, then to lots off South Cooper Street, south of Mitchell Street.
A drop-off and pick-up zone will be designated off Pecan Street at the southwest corner of College Park Center.
Please note that vehicles parked at private apartment complexes adjacent to campus may be towed.
Additionally, in order to decrease the impact on nearby residential streets, signs will be posted on First, Second and Third Streets alerting visitors that these streets are not to be used for event parking. These signs are meant to be a deterrent to guest parking, but parking for residents and UT Arlington guests is not prohibited. Arlington Police Officers will be on hand in the neighborhood that evening to assist University Police with concerns if they arise
