This year, the Arlington Public Library is counting down to 12 p.m. NOON instead of Midnight and the whole family is invited! Starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, Noon Year"s Eve parties for children and families will be held at six Arlington Public Library branch locations across the city:

  • Northeast Branch Library - 1905 Brown Blvd.
  • East Arlington Branch Library - 1624 New York Ave.
  • Literacy House - 101 E. North St.
  • Southeast Branch Library - 900 S.E. Green Oaks Blvd.
  • Lake Arlington Branch Library - 4000 W. Green Oaks Blvd.
  • Southwest Branch Library - 3311 S.W. Green Oaks Blvd.

Family members of all ages are invited to join the fun at their local library branch. Attendees will enjoy crafts, photo ops at the Noon Year"s Eve photo wall, short stories, and a countdown to 12 p.m. noon. Activities will be followed by a dance party at each location, so come ready to dance your way to 2016! This event is free and open to the public and no registration is required.

Redskins vs. Cowboys at AT&T Stadium

One of the fiercest rivalries in all of sports, the Cowboys-Redskins matchup in the NFC East is always a must-see game where you can throw out the records. Ranked by both ESPN and Sports Illustrated as the greatest rivalry in the NFL, the two teams have been playing each other since October 9, 1960, a total of 111 meetings (including 2 postseason games). This year's game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington kicks off at 12 p.m. CT on Sunday, January 3, 2016. If you can't make it to the game, it will be nationally televised on FOX. During the tenure of this rivalry, the two franchises have won 28 combined division titles and eight combined Super Bowls. The Cowboys lead the all-time series, with a record of 66-43-2.

Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, transforms into the "Cheer" capital this holiday season. For 30 years, Holiday in the Park has spread holiday joy to families. This year the tradition continues as this magical event shines even brighter. On select dates through January 3, 2016, SantaLand, the Holiday Tree of Trees Spectacular, The Frosty Snowhill, and more await guests during this memorable celebration. The seasonal fun doesn't stop there as five holiday shows, ranging from a Texas twist to a Victorian revue, will have guests singing and dancing along. After visitors catch a show, they can warm up at one of the six holiday campfires around the park, with a cup of hot cocoa, or with their own s'mores. Modern Masters from the Guild Hall Collection

This exhibition will feature work by 60 artists including Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Jackson Pollock, Roy Lichtenstein, Willem de Kooning, and Robert Motherwell. This exhibit will explore traditional mediums of art, outside the box, and how the art world embraced the work that represents a movement that changed the face of fine art in America. The exhibit will be open to the public until Sunday, February 21, 2016. Arlington Museum of Art is located at 201 West Main Street Arlington, TX 76010. Ringside: Memories of World Class Championship Wrestling Exhibit

The wrestlers. Their extravagant costumes. Overly exuberant fans yelling for their favorites. The referee who wasn't entirely necessary. The old-time arenas that smelled of sweat. Ringside: Memories of World Class Championship Wrestling showcases more than 30 photos taken by Cirrus Bonneau, who spent Monday nights in 1982 and 1983 at the Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth documenting the interplay between the costumed stars and their captivated audiences. The exhibit is free to the public and runs through Jan. 16 at the UT Arlington Central Library, 702 Planetarium Place. Call UTA Libraries Special Collections at 817-272-3393 for more information.
