Arlington police employees will deliver gifts to hundreds of families this week as part of the 27th Arlington Police Department/Arlington Police Association Santa Cops program. On Wednesday, December 18, between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., officers and volunteers will deliver gifts during a party at the Arlington Convention Center that will include refreshments, some holiday music, and a visit from Santa.
Santa Cops organizers identify families in need of assistance with the help of social workers and counselors at Arlington Independent School District schools. These families have been contacted and were given scheduled times to arrive at the Arlington Convention Center. In the weeks leading up to the
Santa Cops party, the Arlington Police Association organized gift donations and worked with volunteers to sort the toys that have been contributed to the program.
