"On the Clock" is a show that gives residents an inside look at the hard work city employees do every day to make Arlington a better community to live, learn, work and play.
The episode, hosted by City Manager Trey Yelverton, gives residents a behind-the-scenes look at the Arlington Police Department's Crime Scene Investigation unit.
Arlington's Crime Scene Investigators have several important responsibilities within the Police Department. Investigators participate in evidence collection, photography, answering calls for service/responding at the scene, as well as collecting, analyzing and submitting latent fingerprints into local, state and national fingerprint identification databases. They also test and analyze marihuana (scientific spelling) in the crime lab.
The Arlington Police Department earned an additional accreditation status in Forensic Inspection in 2015 after successfully completing all the requirements from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) - American Society for Quality (ASQ) National Accreditation Board (ANAB). The unit has also been accredited by the ASCLD-LAB - America Society of Crime Laboratory Directors since 2005.
