Arlington Water Utilities paid tribute to its former manager at a dedication ceremony on November 16. The Green Oaks Pump Station was renamed the Charles F. Anderson Pump Station.
Anderson was the former Director of Water Utilities department from 1996 until 2003. Anderson, who retired in 2005 after a 33-year career with the city, was instrumental in the original construction of the Green Oaks Pump Station.
The pump station was constructed in the late 1970' s in order to provide water supply to the growing area south of Interstate Highway 20. Mr. Anderson made significant contributions to the Water Utilities department as well as the water industry. He will be inducted as the President of American Water Works Association (AWWA) in June 2012.
In addition, Anderson has served the Texas Section of AWWA in many leadership positions including the Chair of Texas Section AWWA in 2002-2003. Anderson currently works a management consultant for CDM Smith' s Fort Worth office.
