If you need to shred some important papers, Texas Health Resources (THR) is hosting a free community shredding event,"Earth Day ShredFest," from 9 a.m.-noon on May 17, 2014 at several THR facilities across the Metroplex.
A THR representative and truck from Shred-it will be outside each of the seven facilities. Local residents can bring up to five average-size file boxes of paper to be securely shredded on-site and then recycled.
Most paper items- including confidential documents, notebooks, binders and brochures- can be shredded and recycled. Paper clips and staples do not need to be removed. Cardboard and other heavy paper materials cannot be accepted, along with plastic, glass and aluminum.
Additionally, items such as CDs, DVDs, USB drives, hard drives and video/audio tape will only be accepted at the Corporate Office Tower in Arlington.
