One of the largest Fourth of July parades in Texas is right here in Arlington, with more than 50,000 spectators expected to line downtown Arlington streets on Thursday. We want to help you make it a fun-filled day by sharing some important parking and traffic information
Expect the two-mile parade route to close down at 7:30 a.m. While there are several parking lots in the downtown area, people can park in the College Park District garages if they are parked by 7:00 a.m. No one will be allowed to enter or exit the garages from about 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., or when the parade route clears.
The route begins at the intersection of Mitchell and Pecan streets, proceeds north on Pecan Street, west on UTA Boulevard (Border Street), north on West Street, east on Abram Street, south on Center Street, west on Mitchell Street and ends at the point of origin at the Mitchell and Pecan Street intersection. No parking is allowed on any street along the parade route.
If you decide to park near UT Arlington' s Football Stadium, take advantage of the shuttle, which will run from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The shuttle will take people directly to parade assembly area.
As the last entry passes, the Arlington Police Department will begin re-opening the roads impacted by the parade.
