Exhibit of Ansel Adams Photos Coming to Arlington

Ansel Adams' magnificent photographs of the American wilderness are recognized an admired around the globe. Known for his black-and-white landscapes, Adams is credited with helping shape photography as a fine art.

An exhibit featuring some of Adams' favorite photos is coming to downtown Arlington.

Ansel Adams: Masterworks, a collection of more the 45 photos Adams personally selected from his catalogue, opens May 3 at the Arlington Museum of Art (AMA), 201 W. Main Street. These images will be on display for three months this summer at the museum.

This extraordinary exhibit contains pieces printed by Adams himself using silver gelatin prints. According to Chris Hightower, AMA director, the outcome is truly stunning, capturing a level of depth and clarity second to none.
